Too Many Tangles

NOTE TO SELF: Use ball winder at yarn store. Things can get hairy pretty quickly. At least someone enjoys the tangles.

I want a pair of Toms.

Boy quilt top finished. I was losing a little steam on this one but I made myself get through it before I lost interest. It turned out better than I thought. Next quilt will have dandelions and dalmatians on it.

Started quilting Laurence's wedding quilt. I still have a breezy 6 months to get this puppy finished.

I'm sad to hear that they're getting rid of the mosaic at the entrance to California Adventure as part of the renovations that are taking place at the park over the next four years. I am excited to see the place updated though. There's going to be a whole Pixar Cars land.

Hooray! It's Nathaniel's 24th birthday and we're celebrating at Disneyland. All this year you can get in for free on your birthday as long as you pre-register on their website.

Went to see Coraline the other night on 3rd Street Promenade. I wouldn't say it was the best movie I ever saw but it was definitely worth going to see in 3D at the movie theater. My favorite part was the garden scene in the other world. After the movie, Than found some of the concept artists' blogs and I grabbed some of my favorite pictures. It's an especially inspiring movie for people who like textiles. We found a YouTube video on a woman, Althea Chrome, who actually mini knitted Coraline's sweater! So cool.

The Worst Name for the Best Store

The first time I came to LA, to visit, I stumbled upon this store in Venice. It was like an explosion of my creative world; I wanted everything in it. Fortunately, their price tags make me feel more like I'm in a museum, and I like it that way. Also check out Obsolete next door.
