Ran across the coolest store yesterday while walking around on 3rd Street in Beverly Hills. Named after the artist, KRISLYN, is this gallery/retail space showcasing the most beautiful home decor. Everything looked like manipulated nature with these kinds of plants and shells that were so quirky and unusual. I've never wanted a specimen box as bad as her's with the craziest kind of life in them.

Great arch-floral details at Jessica and Jeff's wedding. I could see a permanent one of these in an awesome backyard. By florist Neil Gilly.

Than got an awesome new camera this week; a Nikon D90. Every picture you take on that baby looks beautiful.

Guerrilla Gardening

I saw this determined palm tree growing right through the parking lot on my walk home from work on Saturday. It reminded me of how much I've been enjoying my current bedside read, Guerrilla Gardening by David Tracy. It is a wonderful book and very pertinent to life in urban LA. He talks about secretly planting in public places, creating your own container gardens, and general gardening knowledge for those of us who lack our own bit of dirt. And it's all done up with a wit and candor that makes me giggle. He also brings in political elements that make you feel like you can change the world just by planting a seed. And you can!

Walkin' Around

I love going for walks around our neighborhood. There are so many great sites to take in; the sun is always shining, which makes for lots of good pictures, and I will continue to take them.

It's Getting Hot

I wouldn't mind dipping my toes in some cold Pacific water right now. Yesterday's weather was in the upper 70s and it feels like today with will be the same.

Start Your Own Garden (Bus)

From an article in this month's Bon Appetit. The Who bus, created by Daniel Bowman Simon and Casey Gustowarow, boasts an organic garden growing out of the bottom of a second bus that has replaced the roof of the first. They recently petitioned for President Obama to build a white house garden, as a means of setting an example for the rest of us, and ground has already broken for one. More info here. The article got me excited to exploit my little balcony space for some homegrown goodies!

#1 Thing I Love the Most about LA

There are the most beautiful sunsets here, everyday. It makes the sky feel so much bigger and I can't help but to get my camera out every time.
