................Other People's Workrooms................

I got a book from the library yesterday called Where Women Create filled with images of various artists' workrooms. Tacky was not avoided but I still found each of their spaces enjoyable and inspiring.





















The glass jars hold 'wishes' that guests can pick from...silly, yes but those jars are really cool looking. The hat was made for the woman after the birth of her twin grandchildren. I can't get over how cute it is.










































Each studio has about 3 or so pages of photographs dedicated to it...the page before this picture was quite unappealing. But then I totally love this picture. I want that parrot chair.






Dishwasher storage! Just don't accidentally turn it on.

Why Don't I Use These More Often?

I made myself two homemade bacon-egg-cheese biscuits this morning for breakfast and it made me contemplate, "If people knew how good these biscuits were, they would be jealous of me." I barely managed to get a picture before they were both gone.

That's Elvis' crotch on that seat cushion. I made the pillowcase with Elvis' head on the other side and didn't think about what I was doing with the leftover fabric on the back, but I like the placement.

My mom just commissioned Tom Dunne, a local artist from Durham, to paint a portrait of our family dog, Malone. I think he did a great job. Below is a picture of Malone as a puppy (circa 1998).

The scraps left over from my scraps. If I can figure out something to do with them then I'll waste nothing. The rag rug is getting longer...

Than and I found this in the cemetery behind the library we always go to. We also spotted Don Knotts, Rodney Dangerfield, Walter Mattau and Mel Torme. Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery

This is the view from my kitchen. If you look closely, you can see into my neighbor's back yard and it looks so cool. I always see this old couple watering back there. I miss having a backyard to sit in.

........................................Wednesday

I started crocheting a rag rug using the scraps leftover from the quilt I just finished. It's really easy and a great way to reduce wasted fabric. It also got me to clean up the floor! The only problem is I have now used up all my scraps and my rug is only about 8 inches long. I guess that means it's time for a new quilt.

The day was beautiful after a week of rain and clouds. Than and I donned shorts and rode our bikes around the neighborhood.
